is also key. The Senator shared her firsthand experience working with
President Biden on the recently passed bipartisan infrastructure bill.
“No one got everything they wanted, “ she said. “You must be willing to
compromise. Refusing to work together out of principle just penalizes the
whole country.” Discussing the progress being made electing women
leaders and her own role in history, Senator Capito relayed an expression
she heard early on: “If you can see it, you can be it.” West Virginia delegate
Hank Phillips ended the evening noting that his home state deeply
appreciates Senator Capito’s “dedication to solving some of our country’s
most pressing issues in a bipartisan manner and steering the United States
to a more perfect union,” referencing an iconic phrase from the founding
documents directly behind the podium.
